Day to day stumbling and falling
As a cancer survivor (4 years cured!), i feel blessed me with the knowledge that i will not live forever (as most in our culture assume). After falling down 2 stairs and spraining my ankle badly 6 months ago, my challenge at 70 is the likelihood of falling again. i see this pattern in those around me: 2 friends in their 70’s recently fell and both injured their wrists. i know that falls are a major concern for the elderly and that recovery, especially if there is a fracture, is long and difficult. Day to day stumbling and falling is also a metaphor for my mind: stumbling and falling into old, useless thought patterns. So what is the opposite of stumbling and falling? Standing tall with firm resolve. Being courageous. Letting go of small stuff and focusing on being a better person, one moment at a time. Thank you for sharing your healing inspiration (love your books and podcasts!) and for opening this space for sharing our healing journey!
